The Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics CDFD Hyderabad invites applications for Research Scholarships program beginning July / August 2017.

The current research themes include - Computational and Structural Biology, Genetics and Epigenetics, Silkmoth Genomics, Molecular Pathogenesis, Cancer and Stem Cell Biology, Cell Signalling and Molecular and Cellular Biology

CDFD Research Scholars Program - I (2017)

Eligibility Criteria-

Master's degree in any branch of Science, Technology, or Agriculture from a recognized University/ Institute OR MBBS

Candidates who have appeared for their final semester exam but are awaiting results, are also eligible to apply

Qualified CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR/INSPIRE NET JRF/UGC-RGNF (or similar) or have qualified BINC Exam conducted by the DBT with fellowship or GATE (All India Top 50 Ranks in Biotechnology [BT], Life Sciences [XL] or Chemistry [CY]) or JEST

Candidates having qualified for the Project-JRF fellowship under the ICMR funded project Scheme/ [which is only for a period of two years]/DBT JRF NET with a B. Tech. [Biotechnology] degree /DBT JRF NET under DBT-B category list are NOT eligible to apply

MBBS candidates are exempted from any of the eligibility tests mentioned herein but must be below the age of 28 years as on the last date for receipt of application

Candidates with LS-NET qualification only in CSIR-UGC (NET) examination need not apply

Selection Procedure-

Admission will be based on interviews conducted at CDFD

The shortlist of candidates to appear for these interviews will be prepared by CDFD from:

Applicants who appear in the ENTRANCE examination that will be conducted jointly by CCMB and CDFD at 19 different centres across India on May 4, 2017, and have applied to CDFD RSP-I-2017 (CDFD-LAN Shortlist)
(or);
Applicants who appeared in the Joint Graduate Entrance Exam for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS 2017), which was held on 11th Dec, 2016, and have applied to CDFD RSP-I-2017 (CDFD-JGEEBILS Shortlist)

The short listing will be based on cut-off scores determined by CDFD
