College of Post-Graduate Studies, Central Agricultural University vision is to impart higher education in different branches of Agriculture as well as to foster the advancement of learning and prosecution of research in Agriculture and also to undertake such other activities as may deem fit from time to time to uplift the socio-economic status of farmers in the North Eastern Region.

Goals:

To generate globally competitive post-graduates in the field of Agriculture.

To extend appropriate technologies to help Indian farming system, particularly in the North-Eastern Region, to be sustainable as well as profitable.

To transform Agriculture as well as allied activities into profitable enterprises and thereby create food and nutritional security for people of the North-Eastern Region of India

Location of College:

The College is in a perfect world situated on the Umroi (Shillong-Guwahati Bypass) street (NH) at Umiam (Barapani) in Ri-Bhoi region of Meghalaya around 13 km from the Umroi (Shillong) air terminal. Shillong, the capital city of Meghalaya is around 20km away. General transport and taxi offices are accessible for the duration of the day from Guwahati and Shillong. Its area close to the ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Botanical Survey of India, National Bureau of Plant Genetics Resources and the North East Space Application Center gives an extra favorable position to the understudies and the staff.
