Re: Central Police Forces Exam India

The Union Public Service Commission UPSC conducts written examination for recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) - Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

UPSC CPF AC Eligibility Criteria

A degree from a recognised University or equivalent

Age Eligibility:

Minimum 20 years and Maximum 25 years as on 1st August of the exam year

Physical Standards Eligibility:

You need to have minimum Physical Standards as given in the notification

Female candidates can not apply for BSF and ITBP

CAPF (AC) 2018 Important Dates

Date of Notification: 25 April, 2018

Last Date to Apply: 21 May, 2018

Date of Exam: 12 August, 2018

Exam Pattern

Paper I General Ability and Intelligence Objective 125 250 2 Hours
Paper II General Studies, Essay & Comprehension Conventional 200 3 Hours

There is negative marking in Objective Type Question Paper.

There are four alternatives for the answer to every question.

For each question for which a wrong answer has been given, 1/3rd (0.33) of the marks assigned to that question are deducted as penalty.

Physical and medical standards test is conducted only for those candidates who qualify the written examination.

Interview for personal test is of 200 marks.

Physical Efficiency Tests (PET)


If you are declared qualified in the written examination, you will be summoned for Physical Standards / Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests.

Those candidates who meet the prescribed Physical Standards will be put through the Physical Efficiency Tests.

100 Meters race In 16 seconds In 18 seconds
800 Meters race In 3 minutes 45 seconds In 4 minutes 45 seconds
Long Jump 3.5 Meters (3 chances) 3.0 meters (3 chances)
Shot Put (7.26 Kg) 4.5 Meters --

Medical Standards Tests

Medical Standards Tests are conducted only for those candidates who are declared qualified in the Physical Efficiency Test.
