The Central University of Jammu appeared on August 08, 2011, with the arrangement of the principal Vice-Chancellor. It was set up by the Central Universities Act, 2009 (Act No.25 of 2009 read with the Central Universities Act, 2009).

The Department of Educational Studies is portrayed by the constructivist perspective of instruction and learning.
