Re: Chemistry Department IIT Roorkee

The Department of chemistry was established in 1960 at Indian Institute of Technology IIT Roorkee.

Unique features of PG education in Chemistry is that there are compulsory courses in Modeling, Simulation and Computer Application, Radiochemistry and Technical communication, not available elsewhere.

The department proposes to pursue interdisciplinary research on contemporary problems of chemical Science relating to industrial, rural and agricultural development and Utilization of industrial wastes for generation of energy, chemicals and biopolymers will also be attempted to prevent environmental degradation.
