Re: Combined Engineering Services (CES) Examination

Indian Engineering Services IES Exam is a Combined Engineering Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC for recruitment to the services or posts of Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.

The exam is conducted for selection engineers for Government of India's engineering organizations, such as Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE), Central Engineering Service (CES), Military Engineering Services (MES), and others.

UPSC IES Eligibility Criteria

You must be a graduate in Engineering from a recognized university.

Final year students can also appear in IES exam.

Age Eligibility:

You need to be between 21 years to 30 years as on 1st January of the exam year.

Age relaxations exist as per the government rules.

UPSC IES 2018 Important Dates

Date of Notification: 27 September, 2017
Last Date to Apply: 23 October, 2017
Date of Preliminary Exam: 7 January, 2018
Date of Main Exam: 1 July, 2018

Stage II (Mains) Subjective Papers
Engineering Paper I 3 Hours 300

Stage II Total 600
Stage I + II Total 1100
Stage III Personality Test 200
Grand Total 1300

Only those candidates qualifying at Stage I are permitted to appear for Stage-II examination.
