No it is not important to have computer science subject in 12th class to pursue computer engineering.
But you should have studied subjects namely Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry to be eligible for the computer engineering course.
But it will be advisable to learn some languages like C, C++, Java and others so that it will be easier for you in the future.
