Can you plz tell me the information related to Counseling & psychotherapy? Although they are very similar, there are some subtle differences as well Counseling" is generally used to denote a relatively brief treatment that is focused most upon behavior. Counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists don’t have medical training, however psychotherapists may include psychiatrists with a medical background. The terms "counselor" and "psychotherapist" are often used interchangeably and have many similarities, but there are some important differences as well Counseling Technically speaking, "counselor" means "advisor." It involves two people working together to solve a problem. It is a term that is used in conjunction with many types of advice giving Psychotherapy "Psychotherapy" on the other hand is generally a longer-term treatment that focuses more on gaining insight into chronic physical and emotional problems. Its focus is on the person's thought processes, and how these may be influenced by past events such that they cause problems in the present. Key Differences Counselling: Helps people identify problems and crises and encourages them to take positive steps to resolve these issues. It is the best course of therapeutic treatment for anyone who already has an understanding of wellbeing, and who is also able to resolve problems. Counselling is a short-term process that encourages the change of behaviour. Psychotherapy: Helps people with psychological problems that have built up over the course of a long period of time. It will help you understand your feelings, thoughts and actions more clearly.
