Hello sir, is there any one can tell me name of first university in Assam? Which university was established first in Assam?

As per my idea and from some reviews and searching I was founded that the Guwahati University is the first university was established in Assam. The Gauhati University was the First University in Assam state of India.

It was established on January 26, 1948, under the Gauhati University Act, 1947. Guwahati University currently has it’s own campus at Jalukbari, Guwahati. A total of 239 colleges are now affiliated to Gauhati University.
