Indian Administrative Services Exam is a Civil Services exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission UPSC to select candidates in the Central Government and its various departments. The IAS pre exam 2016 will conduct on 07.08.2016 and main exam on 03.12.2016. IAS exam dates- Civil services (preliminary) exam. 2016 Date Of Notification (Saturday):- 23.04.2016 Last Date For Receipt Of Applications:- 20.05.2016 (Friday) Date Of Commencement Of Exam:- 07.08.2016 (Sunday) Duration Of Exam:- 1 Day Civil Services (Main) Exam 2016- Date Of Commencement Of Exam:- 03.12.2016 (Saturday) Duration Of Exam:- 5 Days IAS 2016 Exam Pattern:- IAS Preliminary Exam Pattern:- The Examination shall comprise of two compulsory papers of 200 marks each. Both the question papers will be of the objective type The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English. Each paper will be of two hours duration. Main Examination Pattern:- The written examination will consist of the following papers :- Qualifying Papers:- Paper-A (One of the Indian Language to be selected by the candidate from the Languages included in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution). - 300 Marks Paper-B English - 300 Marks Papers to be counted for merit Paper-I Essay - 250 Marks Paper-II General Studies-I - 250 Marks (Indian Heritage and Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society) Paper-III General Studies -II - 250 Marks (Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International relations) Paper-IV General Studies -III - 250 Marks (Technology, Economic Development, Bio-diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management) Paper-V General Studies -IV - 250 Marks (Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude) Paper-VI Optional Subject - Paper 1 - 250 Marks Paper-VII Optional Subject - Paper 2 - 250 Marks Sub Total (Written test) - 1750 Marks Personality Test - 275 Marks Grand Total - 2025 Marks Candidates may choose any one of the optional subjects for Main Examination:- (i) Agriculture (ii) Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science (iii) Anthropology (iv) Botany (v) Chemistry (vi) Civil Engineering (vii) Commerce and Accountancy (viii) Economics (ix) Electrical Engineering (x) Geography (xi) Geology (xii) History (xiii) Law (xiv) Management (xv) Mathematics (xvi) Mechanical Engineering (xvii) Medical Science (xviii) Philosophy (xix) Physics (xx) Political Science and International Relations (xxi) Psychology (xxii) Public Administration (xxiii) Sociology (xxiv) Statistics (xxv) Zoology (xxv) Literature of any one of the following languages:- IAS 2016 Eligibility:- Graduation degree in any discipline from recognised University. Candidates appearing in the final year degree exam are also apply Candidates with professional and technical qualifications recognized by the Government of India as equivalent to professional and technical degrees are eligible to apply. Candidates who have passed final year of MBBS exam but are yet to complete internship can apply for the prelim exam. Age Limit:- A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years. Age Relaxation:- Upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe Upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates |
