Re: DAIICT M Tech Courses
M. Tech. (Information & Communication Technology) Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT), Gandhinagar, Gujarat curriculum includes six specialisation tracks that provide a strong foundation and advanced courses in each track. This program leverages the strength and diversity of faculty and has the following specialisation tracks which are likely to be unique in their output profile. 1. Algorithmics 2. Communication Systems 3. Computer Networks 4. Machine Intelligence 5. Signal Processing 6. VLSI and Embedded Systems 1. Algorithmics: The Algorithmics specialization within M. Tech (ICT) program is designed to attract bright students with prior background in Mathematics and/or Computer Science, who have aptitude towards theoretical areas of Computer Science (i.e. Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Discrete Mathematics, Automata Theory and Formal Languages, Complexity Theory etc), and would like to pursue research/higher studies. 2. Communication Systems: This specialization involve courses and M. Tech. thesis in areas such as wireless communications, satellite communications, digital communication, RF/Microwave applications, microwave imaging of human body, microwave characterization of materials, RF-ID antennas, dielectric resonator antennas, biomedical applications of microwaves, smart antennas, radar systems, wireless system design, computational electromagnetics, metamaterials, EM wave propagation and scattering in complex media, statistical signal processing, information theory, wireless sensor networks, cognitive radio, image processing, super-resolution, LTE, 4G/5G and MIMO Channels. 3. Computer Networks: The Computer Network & Security specialization within M.Tech (ICT) program is designed to attract bright students with prior background in Computer Science, have aptitude towards network architecture and protocol design, network algorithms, network security, data security and privacy, World Wide Web, & Internet-Of-Things. Students having aspirations for research/higher studies are going to be preferred. 4. Machine Intelligence: Machine Intelligence deals with designing and analyzing intelligent systems and algorithms that can either replace or support humans in decision making, information retrieval, vision related tasks, and others. The areas of interest of faculty serving this program broadly are: Image processing, Computer Vision, Bio-medical imaging, Pattern recognition, Information retrieval and language processing. This program is well-suited for undergraduates in both EC and CS/IT. There are many avenues to contribute in MI irrespective of which undergraduate discipline you belong to, and it will be beneficial to have a strong foundation in mathematics. 5. Signal Processing: The field of Signal Processing is very versatile with applications in image and video processing, speech and audio processing, acoustics, control and instrumentation, VLSI and communication systems, mathematical finance, time series analysis, digital forensics and e-security, biometrics, etc. A specialization in Signal Processing under the umbrella of M.Tech. (ICT) will equip students with a formal training in the core subjects such as speech communication, computer vision, detection and estimation theory, biomedical signal processing, adaptive filter theory, deep learning, machine learning, etc and thereby prepare them well to pursue a good career in industry or academia. Further the training would also keep students in good stead to be able to pursue doctoral research or work in R&D labs or join academia in India or abroad. 6. VLSI & Embedded systems: The field of microelectronic systems design embodies many of the key skills relating to IC design and electronic systems engineering. This programme offers a wide choice of modules based on digital integrated circuit design and analogue integrated circuit design and examines aspects of system integration and discrete device properties. The second semester includes group projects on VLSI design and modules on nanotechnology, embedded systems design and low power digital IC design. |
