DCE Clock Rate Command
I am B.Tech Electronics and communication engineering student. I am working on a project. I am facing some problem to set the DCE Clock Rate Command. Do you have any idea about How to set the DCE to DTE clock rate command?

Re: DCE Clock Rate Command
When connecting two routers together with a serial cable, one of the routers needs to host the DCE (Data Communications Equipment) side of the cable, and the other will host the DTE (Date Terminal Equipment) side. Most serial cables are marked on the connector if it’s the DTE or DCE. The DCE side of the cable is the side that sets the speed of the link (also known as clocking). Based on this, it’s safe to assume that the cable coming out of your router and going to your service provider is the DTE side The DTE side of the cable is where the communications terminate ie: your router terminates the connection from the service provider. How to set clock rate of serial interface on a Cisco router By connecting Cisco routers back to back by using a serial connection, a clock rate needs to be configured on the serial interface at the DCE side. Which router the DCE is depends of the connected cable. This can be checked by the following command: Show controllers serial 0 The clock rate can be configured by issuing the following commands: Clock rate configuration example: Router(config)# config t Router(config)#interface serial0 Router(config-if)#clock rate [clock rate] |
