Department of Mathematics appeared in the year 1961. Prof. S.D. Chopra was the originator Head of the Department. From that point forward the Department has gained an excellent ground in instructing and research in different branches of Mathematics. It has earned National and International acknowledgment in research in the fields of Mechanics of Solids, Elasticity, Theoretical Seismology, Analysis and Algebra.

The Department has dynamic gatherings of specialist comprising of instructors and research researchers in Pure and Applied Mathematics. The Department has delivered around 100 Ph.D. understudies who got situation at respectable positions in instructing, explore and authoritative associations.

The Department has sorted out number of Seminars/Symposia gatherings with the assistance of subsidizing organizations like UGC, DST and Others. The Department has additionally sorted out summer schools. Number of Research ventures financed by UGC/CSIR/DST/NBHM has been finished effectively in the division.

• Numerical solutions of non-linear Differential Equations.
