I would like to tell you that “Mother Teresa University” is a Women's public university located at Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, India. It was established in 1984 by the enactment of Tamil Nadu Act 15 which monitors and offers consultancy services and research in Women's Studies.

So here in response of your question I am mentioning the details about the “Biotechnology” department of this University.

DEPARTMENT OF BIOTECHNOLOGY

1.VISION

I would like to tell you that The Department of Biotechnology was started in 2002 with a vision to make an impact through research and technology based training.

2.MISSION

I would also like to mention that the mission of the Department is to provide academic training and conduct research in the interdisciplinary areas of biotechnology with a particular emphasis on extending the knowledge generated from these studies towards the development of technologies of commercial significance.

Let me tell you that an herbal garden is maintained within the campus by the Department of Biotechnology which spreads on 0.25 acres of land where about 50 species of important traditional, medicinal and aromatic herbs are flowering.

Along with that a state of art nano science lab is setup in the Department of Biotechnology funded by Consolidation of University Research for Innovation and Excellence in Women Universities (CURIE Programme), DST.
