As per your request here I am providing you information about the Course Structure for MA in Development Studies at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati along with eligibility. Categories of Students for M.A. Programme in Development Studies The Institute admits MA students under the following categories: I) REGULAR (FULL -TIME) The candidate will work full-time for their M.A. degree. II) SPONSORED (FULL-TIME) An applicant in this category is sponsored by a recognised R&D organisation, academic institution, governmental organization, NGO, development agency or industry for doing MA in the Institute on a full-time basis. The candidate must be a regular employee of his/her organisation with at least two years of experience at the time of admission and be engaged in professional work in the discipline in which admission is sought. He/She will not receive any financial support from the Institute. Sponsorship letter (Form I) must be attached with the application. Eligibility for Regular M.A. Candidates Applicants should have Bachelor’s (10+2+3) degree (Major/Honours) or equivalent from a recognized University, in any discipline, with a minimum of 50% marks or 5.5 CPI in a 10-point scale (45% marks or 5.0 CPI in a 10-point scale for SC/ST/PD applicant) in major/honours only OR Applicants not having Major/Honours courses, must have the concerned degree with a minimum 50% aggregate marks or 5.5 CPI in a 10-point scale for General/OBC category applicants and a minimum 45% aggregate marks or 5.0 CPI in a 10-point scale for SC/ST/PD category applicants. Eligibility for Sponsored (Full-Time) M.A. Candidates Same as for `Regular’ applicants, but also fulfilling additional conditions specified for Sponsored (Full-Time) applicants, as indicated under “Categories of Students for MA Programme”.
