The Directorate is providing opportunities for higher education to a large segment of population especially disadvantaged groups living in remote and rural areas, adults, housewives and working people.

In order to meet the growing demand of open and distance learning, the Directorate has enriched in terms of resources for further access to the aspirants. It aims at establishing itself as a centre of excellence in Distance Education.
