DUGC stands for Departmental Under Graduate Committee. It’s an office level board of trustees, involving employees and an understudy agent, which prompts UG understudies on scholarly related matters. It likewise goes about as interface between Institute body, SUGC and the office.

The Department of Materials Science and Engineering, prior Materials and Metallurgical Engineering at IIT Kanpur was set up in 1960.
