The credit-semester system is followed for the M.A. program at the Department of Economics of University of Pune with a total of four semesters. Every semester one has to appear for two or three core or compulsory papers.

M.A. Part- I Semester I
Core Courses
1. EC-101 Micro Economic Analysis - I
2. EC-102 Public Economics - I
3. EC-103 International Trade
Non-Core Course (Any one course to be selected from below)
1. EC -104 Fundamentals of Mathematics and Statistics
2. EC -105 Mathematical Economics

M.A. Part- I Semester II
Core Courses
1. EC-201 Micro Economic Analysis – II
2. EC-202 Public Economics – II
3. EC-203 International Finance
Non-Core Course (Any one course to be selected from below)
1. EC-204 Agriculture Economics
2. EC-205 Statistics

M.A. Part II Semester III
Core Courses
1. EC-301 - Macro Economic Analysis - I
2. EC-302 - Growth and Development - I
3. EC-303 - Fundamentals of Banking and Finance
Non- Core Courses (Any one course to be selected from below)
1. EC-304 Econometrics
2. EC–305 Research Methodology

M.A. Part II Semester IV
Core Courses
1. EC-401 - Macro Economic Analysis - II
2. EC-402 - Growth and Development- II
