Re: Educational Qualification for IAS Entrance Exam

IAS Entrance Examination is conducted by Union Public Service commission (UPSC) every year .

IAS Eligibility Criteria:

Qualification Required:


Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline from the recognized University/Institution.

Applicants who are pursuing in the final year examination or waiting for their final year result they may apply . But these applicants must have to produce final result for appear in Civil Services Main Examination.

Nationality:
For the IAS (Indian Administrative Service) and the Indian Police Service (IPS) candidate must be a citizen of India.

Candidate must be either:
a citizen of India, or
a subject of Nepal, or
a subject of Bhutan, or

Age limitation:
21 to 30 years

Age relaxation :
Age relaxation provided for the SC/ST/OBC candidates as per the government rules.

Number of attempts:
For General: 4 times
For OBC: 7 times
For SC/ST: Till 35 yrs of age

IAS examination phases:


Phase 1: Preliminary Examination or CSAT (Objective Section)

Phase 2: Main Examination (Subjective Section)

Phase 3: Interview (Vocal Section)

Optional Subjects for Civil Services Main Examination:
