I will tell you education criteria to apply for IIT JEE Main exam along with other information details related to exam.

Eligibility

Education Qualification:
The qualifying examination should have been passed in 2014 or 2015. However, candidates writing 10+2/equivalent exams in 2016 may also apply.

In the qualifying exam, candidates must have had Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects among five subjects.

Number of Attempts:
Each candidate is entitled to take JEE Main three times only.

Selection procedure
Candidates will be given admission on the basis of All India Ranks calculated with JEE Main scores and normalized marks of Class XII in the ratio 60:40.

Exam pattern
Paper 1:
JEE Main question paper of paper 1 comprises questions from Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics, and all questions will have equal weightage. Check exam pattern below-

Candidates had to mark only one response for each question out of four responses given.

One-fourth marks will be deducted for indicating incorrect response of each question.

If no response is indicated for a question, then no deduction from the total score will be made.

Paper 2:
Paper 2 will consist of following three parts-
Part I - Mathematics
Part II - Aptitude Test
Part III - Drawing Test
The exam will be of 3 hours duration.
