Eligibility Criteria for AFCAT
I want to apply for AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) so please give me notification for details about this exam including eligibility criteria and medical criteria? Also give me application process and selection process for AFCAT Exam?

AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) is a national level competitive exam conducted by the Indian Air Force (IAF) to select officers for all its branches, except for the medical and dental branches. For all entries other than NDA and CDSE and for all branches, candidates have to undergo the AFCAT. The test is conducted twice a year in February and August. Advertisements inviting applications for AFCAT are out in June and December. Candidates are to apply as per the advertisement. The test is conducted all across India by the Indian Air Force. General Eligibility for Flying Branch 2017 • One should be Indian. • Marital Status: Single • Gender: For SSC Entry both Male and Females can apply. • Age: 20 to 24 years as on July1, 2017 i.e. born between July2, 1993 to July 1, 1997 (Both Dates inclusive). o Upper age limit for one holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 years i.e. July 2, 1991, to July 1,1997 (Both dates inclusive) • Educational Qualifications: One must be a Graduate i.e. Minimum three year degree course in any discipline from a recognised University. o One must have attained minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together o One must have passed Maths and Physics at Class 12 level OR BE / B Tech degree (Four-year course) from a recognised University with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together • Physical Standards o Height - Minimum height 162.5 cms. o Leg Length- Minimum 99 cms Maximum 120 cms o Thigh Length- Maximum 64 cms o Sitting Height- Minimum- 81.5 cms Maximum 96 cms o Weight and Chest are required to be well proportioned. Minimum expansion 5 cms. (Applicable only for males) • Visual Standards: Minimum Visual Acuity 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other correctable to 6/6 only for hypermetropia. Not Eligible to Apply for AFCAT: One who has failed the Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT) in an earlier attempt or A Flight Cadet suspended from flying training at Air Force Academy are not eligible to apply. One who has been debarred by the Ministry of Defence from holding any type of commission in Defence Services is not eligible for admission to AFCAT examination and if admitted, the candidature will be cancelled. |
