So for becoming the Income Tax Officer you will have to take the Staff Service Commission (SSC) exam

Staff Service Commission (SSC)

Staff Service Commission (SSC) conducts an entrance exam every year for the recruitment of candidates in the income tax department.

Eligible

Candidates who are applying for the post of Income tax officer must appear for the SSC exam.

The basic qualification required to apply for the SSC is a degree from a recognized University or its equal.

The candidates should be minimum 18 years and not more than 27 years at the time of applying

(Age relaxation is available for the candidates belonging to the backward classes).

Selection process

Selection is depend on written, oral and physical tests

Candidates who clear these tests will be called for an interview later.

Topics for exam and interview

Candidates who are appearing for the interview and examination must be prepared in topics like

General English
Basic arithmetic
General knowledge etc.

In addition to this questions will be asked on topics like General policy, Geography and History as well .
