UPSC Geologists Exam is a competitive examination conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruitment and selection to the post of Geologist, Geophysicist and Chemist Group 'A' in GSI and Junior Hydro-geologist (Scientist 'B'), Group 'A' for Central Ground Water Board. UPSC Geologists Exam eligibility- Master's degree in Geology/Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a recognized university; or Diploma of Associateship in Applied Geology of Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad; or Master's degree in Mineral exploration from a recognized university (for posts in GSI); or Master's degree in Hydrogeology from a recgonized university (for posts in CGWB) Candidates appearing in the qualification examination can also apply Age - limits: 21-32 years on 1st January of the year of examination. Exam pattern- Part I Written Examination Candidates competing for both categories have to appear in the following papers (i) General English 100 Marks (ii) Geology Paper-I 200 Marks (iii) Geology Paper-II 200 Marks (iv) Geology Paper-III 200 Marks (v) Hydrogeology 200 Marks Part II : Interview for Personality Test 200 Marks Tentative Schedule (i) Notification of Examination June (ii) Conduct of Examination November |
