SSC invites application from the eligible candidates for a Combined Examination to recruit Stenographers.

SSC Stenographer Grade C and Grade D Recruitment:

Tentative vacancies for Stenographers Grade C:
38 (UR – 27 ,SC – 1 ,ST – 0 6 ,OBC – 4 , OH – 1, VH – Nil, Ex-Servicemen – Nil)

Tentative vacancies for Stenographers Grade D:
496 (UR – 300 , SC – 62 ,ST – 33 .OBC – 1 01,OH – 11, VH – 02 ,Ex-Servicemen – 19)

Age Limit:
18 -27 years

Pay Scale for Stenographers Grade C:
Rs.9300-34800 + GP 4200/- (Pay Band 2)

Pay Scale for Stenographers Grade D:
5200-20200 + GP 2400/- (Pay Band 1)

As a Stenographer, your work profile will depend upon where you are posted.

Stenographer Grade C are posted in Ministries/Departments of Central Government, located mostly in Delhi.

Grade pay is provided to Stenographer Grade D candidates:

Grade C salary and allowances:
Pay Scale 9300-34800
Grade Pay 4200/- (Pay Band 2)
Initial Pay 5200
Total Pay (i) + (ii ) 14500

Grade D salary and allowances
Pay Scale 5200-20200
Grade Pay 2400/- (Pay Band 1)
Initial Pay 5200
Total Pay (i) + (ii ) 7600

As a Stenographer you will also be entitled to the following major allowances like:

Stenographer Grade D is grouped as under:

Group ‘X’ – For Departments of Central Government located mostly in Delhi.
Group ‘Y’ – For Departments of Central Government including all over the country
