Grand Prix Bratislava is the most famous and the most traditional equestrian event in Slovakia. In 2016, 51 annual Grand Prix Bratislava will be held.

This Grand Prix Bratislava was aimed as contest in 1965. The Grand Prix Bratislava aim of the organizers has been to hold an international competition of such significance which would allow to compare the standard of the local and foreign showjumping, and thus to improve the quality of the local riders and horses.

The first foreign guests were the riders of Honvéd Budapest and Vorwärtz Berlin (GDR).
