GRE Analytical Writing Sample
Hello, I want to know the sample questions for the GRE analytical part as I am applying for the exam. Hello, here I am providing you the sample questions for the essay for the GRE analytical part as under: Prompt 1: “Some people protest the destruction of famous old buildings, saying that we are losing priceless cultural and historical landmarks. Others suggest that by replacing them, however, we are doing exactly what the builders of the originals did. in time, the new buildings themselves may be considered landmarks.” Prompt 2: “Adhering to traditional modes of thought makes success in business impossible to achieve.” Prompt 3: Claim: Military training strategies, such as unit cohesion and drilling, are powerful techniques to use in a classroom. Reason: These strategies allow students to focus on a task and think like a team, supporting one another to reach a goal. Tips for the good analytical part: WRITE AT LEAST THREE PRACTICE ESSAYS DON’T WAFFLE CHOOSE VERY SPECIFIC REAL-WORLD EXAMPLES AVOID FIRST-PERSON AND SELF-REFERENCE MAKE STRONG, DECLARATIVE STATEMENTS REFUTE THE OPPOSING VIEW IN YOUR CONCLUSION WHAT IS OFFERED AS EVIDENCE, SUPPORT OR PROOF WHAT IS EXPLICITLY STATED, CLAIMED OR CONCLUDED WHAT IS ASSUMED OR SUPPOSED, PERHAPS WITHOUT JUSTIFICATION OR PROOF WHAT IS NOT STATED, BUT NECESSARILY FOLLOWS FROM OR UNDERLIES WHAT IS STATED YOU ARE NOT BEING ASKED TO DISCUSS WHETHER THE STATEMENTS IN THE ARGUMENT ARE TRUE OR ACCURATE. YOU ARE NOT BEING ASKED TO AGREE OR DISAGREE WITH THE POSITION STATED. YOU ARE NOT BEING ASKED TO EXPRESS YOUR OWN VIEWS ON THE SUBJECT BEING DISCUSSED (AS YOU WERE IN THE ISSUE TASK). All the best for the exam Last edited by Neelurk; May 29th, 2020 at 11:52 AM. |
