Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), an open division undertaking under the regulatory control of the Ministry of Mines, was joined on ninth November 1967. It has the qualification of being the country's just vertically incorporated copper creating organization as it makes copper appropriate from the phase of mining to beneficiation, purifying, refining and throwing of refined copper metal into downstream saleable items.

Malanjkhand Copper Belt contains a vast collection of copper metal in granitic rocks fluctuating from diorite to stone in arrangement. Conspicuous stores are: Malanjkhand, Shitalpani (Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh), Gidhri Dhorli, Jatta and Garhi Dongri.

Origin

Malanjkhand Copper Project was set up in 1982.Initial task has been set up by Hindustan Copper Ltd to misuse the copper metal through an open pit mine. Land Survey of India took methodical topographical investigation at this store amid 1969. Mining lease of the mineral was conceded to HCL amid 1973. With headway of time this undertaking was improved with practical operational advancements.

At introduce other than the open pit mine and concentrator plant the undertaking has additionally been given assistant offices, for example, Tailings Disposal and Water Reclamation System, Repair Shops, Maintenance Garage, Water Treatment Plant, Warehouses, Fuelling Stations, 132 KV Power Sub-station, Waste Treatment Facilities and Township with current comforts.
