Catholic Syrian Bank Limited (CSB) is an Indian private sector bank with its headquarters at Thrissur, Kerala, India, it was founded on 26 November 1920:

As you asking I am history of this bank :

1954 - Rs.25 per share called-up on the 5,000 (Rs.25 paid-up) equity shares.

1958 - 5,243 right equity shares issued at par in the prop. 1:2. Only Rs.25 per share was called up.

1959 - Rs.25 per share called up of Rs.5,243 (Rs.25 paid up) shares making them Rs.50 called up.

1960 - 5,000 right shares including subscribed shares of earlier issue issued at par in prop. 1:3.

1961 - Rs.30 per share on 5,000 shares called up in 1961. 10,000 right shares issued at par (Rs.50 called up) in prop. 1:2. In 1965, 860 shares forfeited. The forfeited shares reissued in 1967.

1964 - Selected assets and liabilities of the Ollur Bank Ltd., Ollur, The Puthenpeedika Bank Ltd., Puthenpeedika, The Kottapadi Bank (P) Ltd., Kottapadi and The Oriental Christian Bank Ltd., Trichur were taken over.

1965 - The selective assets and liabilities of the Indian Insurance and Banking Corporation Ltd., were taken over. The total number of Banks taken over was six and the number of new branches opened during the same period was sixteen. The impact of the transfer affected the net earnings of the Bank to a considerable extent in as much as the subscription of almost all employees belonging to the transferor Banks resulted in an unduly large increase in its overheads, especially wage bill, which was much out of proportion to the volume of business attracted by the transfer.

1971 - With effect from 1st April, the Bank was upgraded to `B' class.

1975 - The Company started to deal in foreign exchange business from September.

1983 - 6,000 rights equity shares issued at par in prop. 1:5.

1984 - 6,000 shares issued.

1985 - 8,000 shares issued. 1987 - 10,000 shares issued.

1989 - 10,000 shares issued.

1990 - 15,000 rights equity shares issued.

1991 - 30,000 shares issued, 63,000 rights equity shares issued.

1993 - Authorised capital increased. 36,34,051 rights equity shares issued of which 20,80,051 shares to employees.

2001 - The Company has launched a major drive to bring down the NPA to a single digit level by the end of the current fiscal.

2004

-Thrissur-based Catholic Syrian Bank has tied-up with Birla Sun Life to manage its Rs 10-crore superannuation fund

2006

-CSB joins hand with Laser Soft to develop core banking tool
