Re: The History of Jagannath University

Jagannath University is a legislature financed open university[2] in Sadarghat, Dhaka the capital of Bangladesh. Jagannath University is in the southern piece of Dhaka city close to the waterway Buriganga nearer to islampur and laxmibazar.

The University has a history that began in 1858 when Dhaka Brahma School was established by Dinanath Sen, Prabhaticharan Roy, Anathbandhu Mallik and Brajasundar Kaitra. The name Jagannath School was given by Kishorilal Chowdhury, the Zamindar of Baliati in Manikganj, who assumed control over the school in 1872 and renamed it after his dad.

The University began with just 48 understudies and in five years, the move raised to 396. In 1910, Raja Manmath Roy Chowdhury, the zamindar of Santosh, tangail subsidiary the Pramath-Manmath College of Tangail with Jagannath college.

Jagannath University opened honours and masters programs in 1975. That year the government by and by assumed control over the University and overhauled it into a postgraduate college.

The school delivered several thousands graduates. The Management of University is endeavoring to make this foundation as a focal point of greatness for making effective and beneficial subjects of Bangladesh.
