How to Crack CDS Written Exam

I have completed my graduation and want to give the Combined Defense Services (CDS) Written Exam looking for the notes of this exam for doing preparation. Can you please provide me CDS written exam study material and tell me tips to crack the CDS exam?

Some good tips to crack Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examiantion conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) are as follows:


Know the Pattern and Syllabus

Solve Some Previous Year Papers

Know Your Strength and Weakness

Importance of Figuring out the Recent Cut-Off

Time Management plays a very important role

Use Standard Books Only

Strengthen the GK

Practice Maths regularly

Do Mock Tests

Revise and practice multiple times

Candidates should attempt only those questions in which they are 100% sure about the answer & can be solved within 1 minute.

Make habit of reading newspaper, magazines, journals, books and novels to improve English language, vocabulary and grammatical knowledge along with that reading newspaper will help to enhance GK

Make a list of important formulas, short cut tricks and theorems in mathematics, physics and chemistry.


CDS Exam Pattern

Mode of Exam
Offline only (Pen and paper mode)

Number of Questions asked
300 MCQ Type

Number of questions in OTA
200 MCQ Type

Maximum Marks
300 and 200 (OTA)

Duration of Exam
2 hours (120 minutes) for each paper

Medium
Hindi or English

Negative marking
One third marks deducted for every incorrect response

Type of Questions:
Objective Type i.e. each question will have four options. A candidate must choose the most appropriate response.
