An OC/OBC candidate can attempt IES exam 7 times. IES exam is conducted by UPSE. It is a civil service organization. Union Public Service Commission conducts conduct exam of IES.

This exam can be attended by those candidates who are engineering degree holders and Electronics is one allowed stream. For this exam candidates have certain age limits.

If the candidates are between the age limit of 21-30 years they can apply. As always, there will be age relaxation for the reserved categories such as SC/ST/OBC and other categories.

Number of attempts of IES exam category wise;

4 attempts for General category
7 attempts For OBC candidate’s category
No limit for SC/ST candidate’s category

Educational:
Candidates have completed Bachelor degree course in Engineering in any of the following stream:

Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

Final year students also eligible to apply

AGE:
Age should be in between 21 to 30 years
Age relaxation of 3 years for OBC
5years for ST/SC candidates in upper Age limit
