As you want to know Indian Administrative Service (IAS) dates for application form and other information about exam, here I will gather information for you.

Tentative dates
Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2018 -
Date of Notification – 1st week.Februrary.2018

Last Date for receipt of Applications – 1st week.March.2018

Exam Date – 1st week.June.2018

Duration of Exam - 1 DAY

Civil Services (Main) Examination 2018 -
Exam Date – 1st week.October.2018

Duration of Exam - 5 DAYS

Eligibility
Minimum Educational Qualifications:-
a) The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.

b) Applicants appearing for their final year degree exam are also eligible to apply for IAS.

c) Candidates with professional and technical qualifications recognized by the Government of India as equivalent to professional and technical degrees are eligible to apply.

d) Candidates who have passed final year of MBBS exam but are yet to complete internship can apply for the prelim exam.

Age Limit:-
A candidate must have attained the age of minimum 21 years and must not have attained the age of maximum 32 years.

Age Relaxation:-
(i) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe.

(ii) upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates.

Exam pattern
Preliminary Examination
The Preliminary Examination consists of two papers of objective type (multiple-choice questions) carrying a maximum of 400 marks.
The Question Papers (Test Booklets) are set in English & Hindi
General Studies Paper – I 200 Marks
General Studies Paper – II 200 Marks

Paper I – (200 marks)
Duration: Two hours (Counted for the merit rank in the Prelims)

Current events of national and international importance.

History of India and Indian National Movement.

Indian and World Geography – Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.

Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.

Economic and Social Development Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc.

General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialization.

General Science.

Prelims Syllabus for Paper II- (200 marks)
Duration: Two hours (Not counted for the merit rank in Prelims but a qualifying Paper; just needs 33% marks)

Comprehension.

Interpersonal skills including communication skills.

Logical reasoning and analytical ability.

Decision-making and problem-solving.

General mental ability.

Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. – Class X level)
