Agriculture Research Services is the research services of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), organization under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE), Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India.


Agricultural Research Service Examination conducted by the ASRB consists of three stages viz., Prelims, Mains and Interview.


The prelims stage is the qualifying examination and all those candidates who desire to appear for the Agricultural Research Service Examination have to appear for both prelims and mains examination.

Agricultural Research Service Examination is the initial port of entry into the services of ICAR and the new entrants are imparted foundation training called as FOCARS (Foundation Course for Agricultural Research Services) at the National Academy of Agricultural Research Management.

The last date for filling up of online application form is 1700 hrs on 19th October 2015

Closing Date of Online Registration: 19th November 2015

The ARS-2015 (Preliminary) and NET-2015 Exam will be conducted on 04th to 10th December 2015

The ARS-2015 (Main) Exam conducted on 21st February 2016

Application Fee

General (UR)/Other Backward Class Candidates: For ARS-2015 - Rs.500/- only; for NET-2015 Rs.1000/- only and Both for Rs.1500/-

SC/ST & PwD Candidates: For NET-2015 - Rs.250/- only; and Both for Rs.250/-

Payment can be made through Debit Card/Credit Card from any Bank from 1000 hours on 19th Oct 2015, 1700 hours on 19th Nov 2015
