About the Indian Institute of Science
Indian Institute of Science is a public university for scientific research and higher education located in Bangalore, India. Established in 1909 with active support from Jamsetji Tata and H.H. Sir Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, the Maharaja of Mysore.

The details of the Phd Course for the Sponsored Category Candidates

ERP is offered for working professionals from
(1) R&D Organizations / Industries and
(2) Faculty members from Engineering, Agricultural, Pharmaceutical, Veterinary, Medical Colleges/ Universities, recognized by the appropriate government agencies.

The candidates must be officially sponsored by their employing organization. The departments will decide on whether they will have ERP candidates in their Ph D programmes.

ELIGIBILITY
Qualifications remain the same as for the regular candidates. Further, the candidate should have two years of full time employment service in the present organization.

Desirable: Qualifying in one of the NET: CSIR-UGC NET for JRF, UGC-NET for JRF, DBT JRF ,ICMR JRF, GATE, NBHM, etc.

Selection will be based on candidate’s performance in the interview to be conducted at IISc.

Sponsored candidates from Defence, DRDO, BARC, ISRO, NAL, KSRTC, BMTC, BDA PWD and CPRI
