The Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) is one of the major Departments of Indian Institute of Technology IIT Bombay

The Department was established in 1958.

The department has academic programs with about 500 undergraduate and 550 postgraduate students.

Programs-

Undergraduate Programs-

Bachelor of Technology (Electrical Engineering)

BTech with Honors

Dual Degree Program-

Dual Degree program is a five year integrated program where a student is awarded BTech degree in Electrical Engineering and Master of Technology (MTech).

Currently, Dual Degree program is offered in two specializations:

(1) MTech is awarded in Communications and Signal Processing

(2) MTech is awarded in Microelectronics

Post Graduate Programs-

Master of Technology (MTech)

The department offers Master of Technology (MTech) program in five research areas or specializations

Communications Engineering (termed as EE1)
Control and Computing (EE2)
Power Electronics and Power System (EE3)
Microelectronics and VLSI (EE4)
Electronic Systems (EE5)

MTech in EE can be undertaken with either of the following two options-

Full Time MTech which is two years in duration
Part-Time MTech which is three years in duration.
