The IIT Delhi Library System involves a Central Library and 18 departmental libraries that by and large bolster the educating, research and expansion projects of the Institute. The Central Library houses an aggregate accumulation of more than three lakh records including books, propositions, diaries, video tapes and minimal plates in the fields of science, building, humanities, writing and administration.

All in-house operations in the library are completely electronic utilizing the LibSys programming bundle that additionally gives online access to the online inventory of Library. The "Indian National Digital Library in Engineering Sciences and Technology (INDEST) Consortium" was set-up in 2003 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) on the suggestion of an Expert Group delegated by the Ministry.

The IIT Delhi has been assigned as the Consortium Headquarters to facilitate its exercises. The Consortium selects designing and mechanical foundations as its individuals and subscribes to electronic assets for them at reduced rates of membership and good terms and conditions.

The Ministry gives reserves required to membership to electronic assets for 62 midway subsidized Government establishments including IITs, IISc Bangalore, NITs, IIITs, IIMs and couple of different Institutions that are considered as center individuals from the Consortium. The advantage of consortia-based membership to electronic assets is not bound to its center individuals but rather is additionally reached out to every single instructive organization under its open-finished recommendation.
