The Indian Institute of Technology is a private organization and gives settlement to understudies wishing to dwell in the lodgings. Every inn in the organization is an autonomous unit in admiration to its interior organization under the general supervision of the Council of Wardens and the Hostel Management. The inn is regulated by a Warden designated by the Director and he/she is helped by an Asst. Superintendent in all matters identifying with the lodging.

Every lodging likewise has a Hostel Council which is a consultative body including the Warden of the Hostel (as its Chairman), the Asst. Superintendent and the chose understudy secretaries as its individuals.

The Hostel Council arranges the understudies' exercises for the year, readies the monetary allowance for games, recreational and other social exercises of the understudies through the separate understudy secretaries and is in charge of the running of individual wrecks with the assistance of the wreckage board of trustees.
