Re: IIT Ph.D Rural Development Program Eligibility

As per your request, I am going to tell you about the eligibility criteria for Ph.D Rural Development course of the Indian Institute of Technology.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicant should have at least 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST) in M.A. or equivalent degree in Humanities / Social Sciences subjects OR

Applicant should have passed first Class or 60% marks (55% marks for SC/ST) in Master’s degree in Science / Commerce / Graduate Degree in Engineering / Technology OR

Applicant with M.Phil. degree or in any allied subjects or in “Humanities and Social Sciences with specialization in Planning and Development” awarded by IIT Bombay.

Applicant needs to have valid GATE score/ CSIR/ UGC/ ICSSR/ ICPR/ MET/ equivalent qualifying Examination is required for Institute Teaching Assistantship (TA).

Applicant need to have at least 2 years of Professional work experience for Sponsored or External Category (EX) and Self Financing Category (SF).

Selection procedure:

Selection of the candidate based on the score card of the GATE / CSIR/ UGC/ ICSSR/ ICPR/ MET/ score or written test.

Application Fee (Non-refundable):

For General and OBC Candidates : Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only)
For SC/ST/PwD Candidates : Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty Only)
