Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (otherwise called IIT Gandhinagar and IITGN) is an open building foundation situated in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. It has been proclaimed to be an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India.

IIT Gandhinagar was one of the eight new Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) declared by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in 2008. ITGN was incorporated into The Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2011. The Act was passed in the Lok Sabha on 24 March 2011 and by the Rajya Sabha on 30 April 2012.

The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar endeavors to offer the best undergrad and graduate instruction in India with unmatched advancements in educational modules. The establishment advances basic considering and an energy about the interdisciplinary character of information, with an accentuation on the human sciences, venture arranged learning, obligatory courses in plan and the life sciences, decent variety and globalization.

IIT Gandhinagar offers BTech as well as MTech programmes in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical & Materials Science & Engineering as well as also offers MSc programmes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry as well as Cognitive Science.

It also offers MA programme in Society & Culture. Ph.D. programmes are offered in all the engineering as well as science disciplines such as Chemical, Biomedical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science and Materials Science as well as Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Earth Science, and Cognitive Sciences.

Apart from the graduate programmes in engineering as well as science, the institute also offers PhD in Literature, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, political sciences as well as Social Epidemiology.
