Re: Images Of IIM Bangalore
Indian Institute of Management Bangalore offers Post Graduate Programme in Management program of duration 2 years. Post Graduate Programme in Management The two-year, full-time, residential Post Graduate Programme, leading up to a Post Graduate Diploma in Management, designed to equip students to take on leadership roles in an increasingly complex and dynamic global scenario. The PGP lasts six trimesters, spread over two years, with a summer project between the two years. Admissions Students have a consistently good academic record during their school, high school and graduation level, besides exhibiting sufficiently high aptitude as measured by CAT (Common Admission Test if the IIMs)/GMAT. Therefore IIMB uses multiple parameters, namely academic performance in school, high school and graduation programmes as well as candidate’s scores in CAT/GMAT Relevant work experience, if any, is also given weightage. Thus the CAT/GMAT score is one of the more important parameters. The admission process includes a personal interview, conducted through remote video conferencing for international students, and an assessment of writing ability. Short-listed candidates attend a written test and personal interview, and provide three letters of reference from persons who know them closely in terms of their academic/professional performance. The final selection is based on the CAT performance, Scholastic Achievement, Work Experience, performance in the Writing Ability Test, and Interview Course structure- The Programme offers the following type of courses: Core Courses: These are compulsory courses offered in the first year. Most of them offer three credits. Electives: Students have to register for three elective courses, each offering three credits, in the final semester of the first year. They can take up these courses provided they have taken all core courses in the first two terms and have registered for core courses in the third term. In the second year, students need to register for elective courses with a minimum of 45 credits to complete the course. Typically, these are three-credit courses. An elective is offered only if a minimum of 30 students register. The PGP offers 1.5 credit courses (workshop courses and regular courses) depending on students’ interests.
