Indian Forest Service (IFS) Exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) once in a year. The Indian Forest Service Examination will consist of two successive stages Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service Age Limit: The applicants must have minimum age 21 years and maximum age will be 32 years Age relaxation will be provided as per the government rules. Educational Qualification: Applicants who want to appear the IFS Exam , they should have completed bachelor degree with Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics and statistics. Application Fee: General and OBC category candidates need to pay online application form fee is Rs. 100/-. No application form fee for SC/ ST/ PWD/ Women category candidates. Selection Process: The applicants will be Selected on the Basis of Written Exam and Interview. The Written Exam is Two Types pre and Main Exam. Those Candidates who will clear the pre exam they will be called for the main exam. UPSC IFS Exam Pattern UPSC Indian forest Services Exam having 3 papers Descriptive Exam Exam Conducts for 1400 marks S. No Subject Name Marks 1. Paper I – General English 300 Marks 2. Paper II – General Knowledge 300 Marks 3. Paper III, IV, V & VI – Any two subjects to be selected from the list of optional subjects set out below. Each subject will have two papers. 200 Marks for each paper Total marks for written examination 1400 Marks UPSC IFS Syllabus : General English Syllabus The English paper would consist of an essay and passages to write summary. The standard level of papers in General English and General Knowledge are designed for a Science or Engineering graduate of an Indian University.
