Re: Indian Institute of Management MBA Admissions
The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) are a group of 19 public, self-governing institutes of management education in India. They mainly offer postgraduate, doctoral and executive education programmes The 2 year Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), offering the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), is the leading course across all IIMs. Admissions in the IIM’s are based upon the candidate’s performance in Common Entrance Test. CAT scores are often used as the prime short-listing criteria for admissions. International applicants have the option to apply using GMAT scores instead of CAT scores. The complete profiles of candidates comprising past academic and professional accomplishments are considered for all programmes along with valid required test scores. The final round of admission evaluations involve an interview, before which some IIMs conduct other evaluation processes like written assessment tests and group discussions. Admission Procedure for IIM Ahmedabad: Eligibility: Candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree with 50 percentage of marks or equivalent CGPA. The graduation degree or equivalent qualification obtained by the candidate must involve a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. Applicants appearing for the final year bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply Shortlisting and Selection: Applicants fulfilling the minimum cut offs in the sectional percentile ranks and overall percentile rank and obtaining a positive raw score in all sections of the CAT-2015 will only be considered for further stages. There will be rating given for the previous academic performance and rating of the overall profile will be considered for short listings. Then there will be short listings for Academic Writing Test and Personal Interview. Final Selection: Selection of candidates at this stage will be strictly based on the ranks of the applicants computed separately for each category (General/SC/ST/NC-OBC/DA) on the basis of their ‘Final Composite Scores’ (FCS). |
