As you Asking information About the Genetics Unit of the Indian Statistical Institute the information is given below

The Human Genetics Unit belongs to the Biological Sciences division. The Unit was formed in 2003 when the Division was restructured. (Formerly, research in Human Genetics was conducted in the Anthropology & Human Genetics Unit.)

Research Areas :
(a) HUMAN EVOLUTION: Genome Diversity, Migration, Population structure
(b) GENETICS OF EPITHELIAL CANCER: Oral and Cervical
(c) GENETICS OF OTHER COMPLEX DISEASES
(d) STATISTICAL GENOMICS

Facility :

The Unit has state-of-the-art laboratory facilities for human genetics research, including automated DNA sequencer, liquid handling robotics work-station and real-time PCR.

The computing facilities of the Unit include SUN Workstations, IBM Server and a large number of PCs.

The Unit also houses a DNA bank of samples drawn from a large number of ethnic groups of India.
