Here I am giving you ISM Dhanbad Facts It is a mentor university for Afghan School of Mines One of the favourite hangout places for its students is the RD tea stall, which is functional since half a millenia and the acronym comes from its owner 'Ramdhani' who passed away recently. It has a seismological observatory which can measure the intensity ofearthquakes. It also has a longwall mine gallery, Remote Sensing Laboratory. It has state of the art infrastructure which is improving every year and is expanding its way into other disciplines such as chemical and civil engineering. Some of its alumni have been Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri awardees and many are leading top firms. The female to male ratio is improving (otherwise it is sarcastically spelled as Indian School of Males.) It was established on the lines of the Royal School of Mines, London in the year 1926. Certain departments such as Mineral engineering and Mining Machinery Engg. are unique in India. It is a pioneer in fields related to the Earth Sciences. {I: Igneous, S:Sedimentary, M:Metamorphic = ISM :-) } The admissions to the undergraduate studies are through JEE Advancedmaking the entrance highly selective.
