Re: JBIMS Experience

In Jamnalal Bajaj Institute Of Management Studies JBIMS, candidates were called for In-Person Assessment (GD/ PI) based on their application rating score.

The Total score was made up of Application rating score and the In-Person Assessment score.

ARS was weighed 60% and the In-Person Assessment 40%.

Group Discussion

Group Discussion or GD, is used to gauge whether a candidate has certain personality traits desired by them like communication skills, leadership, teamwork etc.

Sample Group Discussions topics at JBIMS for last year's In-Person Assessment were:

River linkage - the only solution to the water problems in India.

Cricket is a waste of time and national resources.

Rivers are our natural resource. All states have equal rights on them.

There were 12-15 students in each group.

You should not be too aggressive or argumentative in a GD.

You must demonstrate various skills like knowledge, good communication skills, teamwork, etc. in order to clear this round.

Personal Interview

A Personal Interview is a great opportunity for candidates to show their skills and strengths.

Typically, interview questions can be of different types, like personality-based questions, which focus on strengths, weaknesses, achievements, failures and goals of an individual.

Questions regarding educational background focus on an individual's academic performance.

There can also be current affairs or career planning based questions.

The panelists might also ask technical questions related to your graduation subjects.

Few questions which were asked in JBIMS interviews are:-

Why MBA?
What would you do if you don’t get through?
Justify your weaknesses.
Was engineering a waste of time?
Is work experience necessary before pursuing an MBA?
Does formal education guarantee success?
