JNTU Kakinada 4-1 Old Question Papers
Please provide me the JNTU Kakinada B.Tech Basic Electrical Engineering question paper? You are looking for the JNTU Kakinada B.Tech Basic Electrical Engineering question paper, here i am uploading a file from where you can download the JNTU Kakinada B.Tech Basic Electrical Engineering question paper, some of the questions are as follows: 1. (a) A copper wire of diameter 1cm has resistance of 0.15 . It was drawn under pressure so that its diameter was reduced to 50%. What is the new resistance of the wire? (b) State and explain Faradays law of electromagnetic induction. [10+6] 2. (a) A generator feeds a load resistance RL through a network. How can you find the value of RL for maximum power transfer? (b) Using Thevenin’s theorem, find the current through RL = 10, in the network shown in figure 2b. 3. (a) A steel ring of circular ring of circular section 1 cm in radius and having a mean circumference of 94.3 cm has an air gap 1 mm long. It is uniformly wound with an exciting coil consisting of 600 turns and excited with a current of 2.5A. Neglecting magnetic leakage, calculate i. Magneto motive force ii. Magnetic flux iii. Reluctance iv. Flux density Assume that iron part takes about 40 percent of the total ampere turns. (b) A solenoid 60cm long is wound with 1500 turns of wire. A search coil enclos- ing a mean area of 20 sq.cm and having 500 turns is placed centrally in the solenoid. Calculate [8+8] i. The mutual inductance of the arrangement ii. Emf induced in the search coil, when the current in the solenoid is chang- ing uniformly at the rate of 250A/sec. 4. Derive an expression for RMS value, average value, form factor and peak factor for the (a) Sinusoidal waveform (b) Half wave rectified current (c) Triangular waveform [5+5+6] 5. (a) The full load voltage drop in a single phase transformer is 3% and 6% re- spectively due to resistance and leakage reactance. The full load ohmic loss is equal to the iron loss. Calculate i. The efficiency on full load at unity p.f ii. The full load p.f at which the voltage drop is maximum iii. The load p.f at which the voltage drop is zero. Explain with neat sketch the construction and working of a MI voltmeter and MC voltmeter. Explain in detail how a magnetic field is produced due to the electric current.
