The College of Agriculture, Junagadh began working in the month of June, 1960. The school was associated to Gujarat University, Ahmedabad from its beginning till the year 1967. Consequently, on commencement of Saurashtra University in 1968 at Rajkot, the alliance was exchanged to it.

The College of Agriculture was set up in 1960 and the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology at Junagadh was set up in 1984 at the Junagadh. While the College of Fisheries Science was begun in 1991 at Veraval.

Junagadh Agricultural University offers instruction in farming and partnered sciences i.e., Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Fisheries, Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandary and Agri Business Management. The showing set up in the college comprises of five resources viz., farming, horticultural designing, fisheries, veterinary science and creature husbandary and post graduate studies. The post graduate level studies are additionally offered in agribusiness and farming building as indicated by the admission limit of the different resources.
