Kalasalingam University has one of the best department is Biotechnology. The Center for Biotechnology at Kalasalingam University is the research arm of the Department of Biotechnology, which was established in the year 2002.

The centre carries out research in diverse fields of biotechnology that have an impact on human welfare. Currently, research at the Center for Biotechnology focuses on Infectious and Inflammatory Diseases, Bioprocess Engineering, Neurophysiology, Plant Biotechnology, Environmental Engineering and Animal Biotechnology.
