Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is a state level examination, which is organized for providing admissions in various engineering, pharmacy and other courses offered by different colleges in Karnataka state

Syllabus of the KCET is given below


Physics


Physical World and Measurement, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy & Power, Motion of System of Particles & Rigid Body, Properties of Bulk Matter, Gravitation, Thermodynamics, Behaviour of Perfect Gas & Kinetic Theory and Oscillations & Waves.

Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Current & Magnetism, Electromagnetic induction & Alternating Currents, Optics, Dual Nature of Matter & Radiation, Electromagnetic waves, Atoms & Nuclei, Electronic Devices and Communication systems.

Chemistry

Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry, Structure of Atom, Chemical Bonding & Molecular Structure, States of Matter: Gases & Liquids, Chemical Thermodynamics, Classification of Elements & Periodicity in Properties, Equilibrium, Redox Reactions, Hydrogen, S-Block Elements, Hydrocarbons, Some p-Block Elements, Organic Chemistry and Environmental Chemistry.

Solid State, Solutions, Electro chemistry, Chemical Kinetics, General Principles & Processes of Isolation of Elements, d and f Block Elements, Surface Chemistry, Co-ordination compounds, Biomolecules, Aldehydes & Ketones & Carboxylic Acids, Alcohols, Phenols & Ethers, Haloalkanes & Haloarenes, Organic compounds containing Nitrogen, Polymers and Chemistry in Everyday life.

Mathematics

Algebra, Trigonometry, Two-dimensional Coordinate Geometry, Probability, Vectors, Statistics, Differential calculus, Integral calculus, Three dimensional Coordinate Geometry, Ordinary Differential Equations and Linear Programming.


Biology
The biology syllabus has been divided into two sections, i.e. Botany and Zoology. Some major Botany topics are Cell Biology & Genetics, Histology & Plant Anatomy, Diversity of Plant Life on Earth, Introduction to Ecology & Taxonomy. The Zoology section contain topics like Tissues of humans, Digestion, Circulation, Respiration, Nervous System, Origin Of Life, Human Reproduction, Organic Evolution, Animal Resources & Human Welfare Dairy, Study of the Cell, Developmental Biology, Diversity of Animal Life and Cell Division.
