Karnatak Lingayat Education Society was founded in 1916 by seven educated youth with the objective of bringing education to the Kannada-speaking region of the erstwhile Bombay Presidency and what is today the North Karnataka region.

The Institute offers a MBA program in affiliation with Karnatak University Dharwad and is recognized by AICTE, New Delhi.

It is a full time 2 years course, segregated in four semesters, for graduates.

IMSR provides specialization in Marketing, Finance and Human Resource.
